About Kashmir Tulip Festival 

The Kashmir Tulip festival is celebrated every year at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, Srinagar. The garden is situated at the foothills of Zabarwan Range in the valley of Kashmir. Formerly known as Siraj Bagh or Model Floriculture Centre, this captivating garden is Asia’s largest tulip garden that attracts people all over the world. The festival started in 2007 to promote tourism in Kashmir Valley.

SHALIMAR BAGH

Built by Jahangir, a Mughal Emperor in 1619, Shalimar Bagh is one of the largest Mughal gardens in the Kashmir Valley. The name of this picturesque garden means “abode of love”, Jahangir made it for his beloved wife Noor Jahan as a gift. It is located at a distance of 16.2 km from Tulip garden. It is one of the most visited places in Srinagar known and praised for outstanding craftsmanship and horticulture. 

PARI MAHAL

Pari Mahal is another monument of the Mughal Period. This beautiful seven terraced  Mahal gives an amazing view of Srinagar City and Dal Lake. Known as the Palace of Fairies, it is located at the top of Zabarwan mountain range and used to be a buddhist monastery.

CHESHMA SHAHI 

Cheshma Shahi was built around a spring in 1632 by Mughal governor Ali Mardan Khan for Emperor Shah Jahan. This Mughal ruminant means Royal Spring is a part of Mughal Gardens in Srinagar. The natural spring which flows here is the main tourist attraction point. It is believed that the spring water has medicinal properties that is why tourists visit this garden to drink water.
